Achievability
The planning for next week is set. I have already added a new weekly time slot dedicated to planning and analyzing weekly patterns. When it comes to this week’s achievability, my main priority will be preparing for my certification exam. I am determined to pass it this time.
As a complementary step, it makes sense for me to continue working on my module. To move forward, I need to test the RBAC setup from last week and, as a new task, also set up disaster recovery.
For Certicopter, my goal is to implement the feedback I received during my review conversation with one of the engineers.
Regarding ISO-27001, I aim to plan out the new steps that need to be taken this year, which includes defining tasks and scoping them appropriately.
Concrete goals for the week:
- Prepare for the certification
- Obtain the certificate
- Complete two tasks for the PC module
- Implement feedback for Certicopter
- Define and scope tasks for this year’s ISO-27001
Task specification
- Certification:
- Complete preparation (review all materials scoped last week)
- Take the exam
- PC Module:
- Test RBAC functionality
- Setup DR
- If time allows, review NKE
- Certicopter:
- Implement the feedback
- Correct any necessary elements
- Review licensing aspects
- ISO:
- Define tasks
- Outline the possible scope for each task
Measurements
Certification
- Certification done?
- Passed?
PC Module
- Does RBAC work?
- DR setup completed?
- What is NKE?
Certicopter
- Would the reviewer now be satisfied?
- Which license do we need?
ISO
- Are tasks defined?
- Is ISO done if all those tasks would be completed?
Achieved goals
So, for this week, I managed to complete some tasks, although there were a few points I, unfortunately, didn’t fulfill. However, I’ve now created a template based on the last post that I can use every week. With this, I don’t need too much time, and it doesn’t get too long. It also helps me plan the entire week and evaluate whether I reached my goals, what went well, and what could be improved - all in a widely recognized format.
Exam
Regarding the exam: I passed! I received the NCP-MCI certification, and now I’m almost officially able to switch teams. There’s only one more task left to complete.
Certicopter
For Certicopter, I was able to implement two new features. I’m also making small adjustments to gradually prepare it for public release. Currently, I’m gathering information about licensing and discussing which license should be chosen. Since it will be open source, there aren’t too many options, but there are still a few that need to be considered. What I wasn’t able to do was implement all the feedback from the last review - but I plan to take care of that next week, now that the exam is out of the way.
Private Cloud Module
As for the private cloud module, I finished testing my RBAC configuration to ensure it works properly. I also set up disaster recovery for the cluster and configured protection policies. The next step is to set up NKP, and then finally, to implement microsegmentation and Playbooks. After that I’m done with all tasks that were left for the requirment to change the team.
Final Thoughts
I had a few things that went well this week, but I wasn’t able to finish everything I had planned. The two main points I didn’t complete were implementing all the review feedback and working on the ISO scoping. However, I believe there should be time to tackle those next week. Overall, I think it was a good week.
Thoughts
Nothing special this week.
